James P. Carmody joined Carmody MacDonald as a partner in the Litigation Group in 2006. Jim concentrates his practice in all phases of matrimonial law. He has more than 18 years of litigation experience, and 15 years of concentration in Family Law. Jim has represented numerous individuals throughout his career in widely diverse domestic relations litigation, including substantial appellate practice.

Jim's experience includes extensive work in matrimonial litigation involving complex financial, real estate and closely-held business ownership and valuation disputes, as well as considerable experience in contested child custody cases. Jim has authored and co-authored numerous appellate briefs in a wide variety of Family Law contexts, as well as other civil litigation.

Jim is admitted to practice in both Missouri and Illinois. He is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, and the St. Louis County Bar Association.
