Turken, Michael A.
Mike Turken passed away after a lengthy illness in early 2009. At the time of his death, he had been a member of the Missouri Chapter for nearly fifteen years, and had more than 30 years experience in family law. Mike was known for his ability to negotiate and resolve cases, for his knowledge of the law, and for his preparation and trial skills in the most difficult of cases. He also had an excellent sense of humor, and a youthful perspective always. He was a valued contributor to the Chapter’s annual spring retreat.
Mike was a past president of the St. Charles County Bar Association, and had been Chairman of the rules committee for over 20 years.
During his career, Mike lectured throughout the state as well as nationally, and had been honored by the Missouri Bar for his service to the Family Law Legislative Committee.
Mike had been honored to be the only St. Charles lawyer to be selected as a fellow of the Academy, and for his inclusion in Best Lawyers in America, and St. Louis Magazine's "Best Lawyers" edition. His absence will be felt by the Missouri Chapter for many years to come.
